This was the session that made me get serious about taking my love of family and newborn photography from a hobby to a business. But that’s just one reason this session is special to me. The other is that they are family! When my brother-in-law and his wife were expecting their second daughter in July of this year, I asked if I could take newborn and family photos for them–just I had done three years earlier with their first daughter. A week after she was born, Jeff, Maddie, and I drove to Cincinnati to meet Baby Clara!
After Clara was nice and sleepy, mom and I set up in the room with the best lighting in the house: the upstairs bathroom! The skylight and sunny day made the bathroom the perfect studio. I set up my heater and white noise and we were ready to go! Baby Clara slept so well and was the perfect little newborn model!
While Clara was having a meal, I got to spend some time with her big sister. This is one of my favorite things to do at sessions with older siblings. We played in her room and I was able to capture some sweet photos of big sister. Our session ended with photos of the whole family and some of just mom and dad with Baby Clara. Some of my favorite images from the session are below. I can’t wait to see these beautiful girls grow up!
